Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about credits
What is an attested message?
Any message you deliver through Kanvo. It is signed at the moment it goes out — recording who sent it, under what authority, and whether it disclosed itself as AI — and appended to your evidence ledger. That signed record is what you are paying for, which is why pricing is per proof rather than per seat.
What is a credit, and how is it different?
Credits pay for AI features: reply suggestions, summarisation, translation, search. They are separate from attested messages, which are metered against your plan's monthly allowance.
Can I cap what AI features spend?
Yes. Every account has daily and monthly AI spend caps, adjustable in settings. When a cap is reached, AI features pause until the window resets — even if you still hold credits — so a runaway agent cannot drain a balance. Refusals say which cap was hit.
What happens if I exceed my attested messages?
On the Attested and Compliance plans you continue sending at $0.001 per additional attested message. On the free Developer plan, sending pauses until the allowance resets — nothing is delivered unsigned.
Do unused credits roll over?
On Attested and Compliance plans, unused credits roll over to the next month (up to 2x your monthly allocation). Developer plan credits don't roll over.
